Day 1Pack your bags for a flight to Rome. Take time to review your documents in flight. Rest, relax and get ready for a trip of a lifetime.

Day 2Arrival into Rome/Transfers to Perugia
Welcome to Italy. Upon arrival into the Rome Airport, meet your representative from Wine Tours of the World in the baggage claim area after you have cleared customs. Your guide will whisk you away into the center of the Italian countryside, where you will arrive at your hotel in Perugia, Umbria. Take some time to relax, unpack and become acquainted with your surroundings. Spend the afternoon exploring the many shops and boutiques before your first authentic Italian meal. This evening, you will be treated to a delicious welcome dinner that will include a wonderful selection of Italian wines.

Day 3Perugia Tour and Wine Tasting
Wake up to a wonderful breakfast and then meet your guide for a morning tour of Perugia. The monumental center of the city is represented by the “Piazza IV Novembre,” which is considered to be one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. The piazza is in the heart of Perugia, with the beautiful “Maggiore Fountain” located in its center. Visitors and locals congregate in the piazza, which is surrounded by quaint bars, the Duomo, awesome medieval buildings and the “Palazzo dei Priori,” which was the residence of the principal political authorities during the Middle Ages. You will also spend time in the National Gallery, which is adjacent to the piazza. Enjoy lunch at your leisure this afternoon. You will then be taken to a local winery for your first official tour and tasting. Another wonderful dinner awaits you this evening at a premier Montefalco restaurant.

Day 4Cooking Class/Shopping Spree/Wine Tasting
After breakfast at your hotel this morning, your guide will chauffer you to your private Italian cooking class. Here, you will learn how to prepare and present classic Italian dishes. After all of your hard work in the kitchen, enjoy your freshly made meal. When you are ready, your wine adventure will continue with an afternoon tour of Spoleto, an ancient city founded before Rome, famous for the “Festival of the Two Worlds.” Spoleto’s lovely shop lined streets is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs and other specialty items. After an afternoon of shopping, enjoy a wine tasting nearby. Dinner this evening will be at a popular local restaurant, known as a favorite by the locals. Your feast will include wines from an extravagant Italian wine list.

Day 5Assisi/Olive Oil Museum/Wine Tasting
Start your morning inside the wine cellar of a prestigious winery near Assisi. An olive oil tasting and a tour at Torgiano’s Olive Oil Museum will follow. You will then arrive in Assisi for a tour of the mystic town of St. Francis and the beautiful Basilica that is dedicated to the Saint. You will have some free time for lunch before heading to your next winery appointment. Dinner this evening is at your leisure back in Perugia. You may wish to have a quiet dinner at your hotel or dine at one of the fabulous restaurants located near the hotel.

Day 6Cooking Class/Wine Tasting
Because Umbria is known as one of the eating capitals of the world, it is only right that you enhance your cooking skills in another private cooking class. Be sure to follow careful instructions because you will be eating your specially prepared meal. Then it is off to a private wine tasting, located in the Montefalco wine region. Dinner is at your leisure this evening. Your guide will be available to assist you with recommendations and reservations. After dinner, be sure to stop in one of Perugia’s world-famous chocolate shops for dessert.

Day 7Orvieto and its Wine
Breakfast will be served at your hotel restaurant this morning before your beautiful drive into scenic Orvieto. Upon arrival in Orvieto, you will spend some time in the tasting room of a famous local vintner before your tour of the incredible medieval city. See the Duomo, St. Brizio Chapel and the Palace of People. Spend some time walking the streets that are lined with local artisans and their masterpieces. You will find that this is a wonderful area to pick up precious ceramics and hand painted pottery. Before returning to your hotel, you will be the guest of honor at a farewell dinner that will take place in a delicious local restaurant.

Day 8Transfer to Rome/Flight Home
After breakfast this morning, take some time to pack your belongings and say your goodbyes. Your guide will be waiting for you to transfer you back to the Rome Airport, where you will begin your journey home.
