Day 1Arrive into Santiago/City Tour
Welcome to Santiago! A representative of Wine Tours of the World will meet you outside of Customs to transfer you to your deluxe hotel accommodations. Once you have checked into your room, you will have time to unpack and then meet your guide in the lobby for a city tour of Santiago. Your bohemian lunch will be served at a favorite local restaurant in the neighborhood of Bellavista. You will visit the 1800 neighborhood of Yungay, known as The Llano de Portales, where you will visit the magnificent Plaza Brazil. Then you will stop at the Mercado Central, meaning central market place. Here you will find local foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, an assortment of seafood and other natural products on display. Your tour continues with a visit to Plaza de Armas, the presidential house also called La Moneda. At sunset, you will be driven to San Cristobal Hill, one of the most visited sights in Chile. Take pictures of the great white statue of the Virgen de la Inmaculada as you take in panoramic views of the entire city. This evening back at your hotel, you will find a wine tasting and welcome dinner waiting your arrival.
Day 2Wine Tasting Maipo Valley
This morning, start with breakfast at your hotel and then you will begin your wine adventure into the Maipo Valley, Chiles oldest wine region. Your day will begin in the prestigious cellars of Vina Cousino-Macul tasting award winning Cabernet Sauvignon. Next you will have lunch and a private tour at Vina Santa Carolina. In the afternoon, we have arranged private tastings at Vina Santa Rita and Caliterra. This evening, you will have a dinner reservation waiting for you at El Madronal, one of Chiles finest restaurants, a local favorite for authentic Spanish cuisine.
Day 3Casablanca Valley and Valparaiso
Today you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and then its off to the seaport town of Valparaiso. But first, you will stop at the organic winery of Emiliana. Enjoy a tour and private tasting of their biodynamic wines. Then you will stop at the House of Morande, a restaurant with a sophisticated flare located at the Morande Vineyard and Winery. You will have the opportunity to taste specially selected wines from this boutique winery before you continue on to Valparaiso. Upon check in at your 4-star hotel, you will meet your guide in the lobby for a walking tour of this bohemian city. You will ride in a hundred year old elevator for amazing views and board a trolley bus that will complete your city tour. This colorful and picturesque city is a wonderful place to shop for souvenirs, local art and dine at many fine restaurants. It is home to many bohemian-style clubs. Your evening is at your leisure. Your guide is available to assist you with reservations, recommendations and transportation.
Day 4Valparaiso/Vina del Mar
Today you will trace the footsteps of the noble Laureate of literature, Pablo Nerude. Visit his museum homes including La Sebastiana, as you learn about this well-known authors exocentric life and passions. Then you can escape to Vina del Mar, the so-called sister town of Valparaiso. This city is all glimmer and glamour, a playground for the wealthy. Enjoy the chic and posh restaurants, extravagant casinos or gulp down exotic cocktails. This evening, we have arranged a luxury spa and Champagne treatment for you at one of the citys luxurious beach resorts. A wine tasting with more wines from the Casablanca Valley and dinner will follow.
Day 5Wine tasting Colchagua Valley
Today after breakfast its back on the Chilean wine road. Your private tours and tastings today will include stops at Vina Casa Silva and Vina Casa Lapostolle and Viu Manent Vineyard. Your lunch will be at the beautiful winery estate, Vina La Playa and will include a private tour and tasting. This evening you will check into a wonderful hotel in Santa Cruz where you will have the evening at your leisure. Dine in or out, your guide will be available to you anytime.
Day 6Wine road back to Santiago
Today we will begin our journey back into Santiago stopping at two of Chiles most famous and well-known wineries, Concha y Torro and Casa Marin Winery. You will have lunch along the way. Upon arrival into Santiago, you will have the rest of the day and evening to explore Santiago by night. Your guide is available with a long list of suggested activities for the evening.
| Day 7Shopping and art tour/Farewell dinner/Extension Trips
Depart from your Santiago hotel to the commercial center of Alto Las Condes where you will find the most important department stores in Chile as well as an excellent selection of boutiques and designer stores. You will then continue to the handicrafts center of Los Graneros del Alba, where the craftsmen work with stone, clay, leather, copper, wool, lapiz lauzuli and other natural materials to produce typical Chilean articles and souvenirs. You will have time for lunch along the way today. This evening, enjoy one last taste of Chilean wines before your gourmet Chilean-style dinner.
Day 8Departure Home/Or Extension Trip #1/Or Extension Trip #2
Breakfast at the hotel and then meet your driver in the lobby for a transfer to the Santiago Airport. You will either catch a flight home or a flight into Mendoza, Argentina, where your wine vacation will continue. Upon arrival into the Mendoza Airport, you will meet your guide and proceed to your selected hotel. You can have lunch and unpack, and then your wine adventures will continue with a private tour, tasting and winemakers dinner at La Borgone Restaurant located at Carlos Pulenta Vineyards. Enjoy your extravagant dinner with marvelous wines. Your guide will safely shuttle you to your hotel at the end of the evening.
Day 9Wine Tasting Mendoza
Today you will continue tasting the wines of Mendoza stopping for a barrel sample or two at Achaval Ferrer Winery. Your next tasting will be at Bodega Sotano and then lunch at Cavas Wine Lodge. Your last stop before heading back to the hotel will be in the cellars of Terrazas del los Andes winery. Your personal dinner reservations will be waiting for you this evening back in Mendoza at Azafran.
Day 10Wine Tasting Lujan de Cuyo/Transfer to Buenos Aires
After breakfast today, you will return to wine country for another full day of tasting the wines of Argentina. Your first stop will be at Cavas de Weiner wine cellar, where you will have a private tour and tasting. Then visit the Lagarde Wine cellar in the Lujan de Cuyo Valley with lunch at a local restaurant within this region. After lunch you will visit the wine cellar of Carmelo Patti before your transfers to the Mendoza airport. You will take a short flight to Buenos Aires in the late afternoon. You will be met upon arrival into the Buenos Aires airport where you will be transferred to your 4-star hotel. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Your guide is available to assist you with dinner reservations.
Day 11Buenos Aires
Today you will visit the glamorous and wealthy neighborhood of Palermo. See the exquisite homes with gardens to match. Then you will be driven to the La Recoleta shopping area, where you will find intimate cafés, restaurants, clubs, and of course many specialty boutiques. You will also visit the Recoleta cemetery, which you will find the grave of Eva Peron. Lunch will be arranged for you this afternoon. Take the day to shop and explore this fabulous area. Dont forget to stop in at one of the local leather shops for custom clothing and jackets. When you have had all the fun you can handle, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Your guide will assist you with dinner reservations tonight.
Day 12Buenos Aires/City Tour
Breakfast will be early this morning, as your guide will be waiting for you in the hotel lobby at 9:00 am. Your first stop this morning will be in at the historic Plaza de Mayo, where you will see the first national monument and the Government Palace, Casa Rosada. Other sites of interest will include the Teatro Colon, Barrio de la Boca, and Barrio de San Telmo. Buenos Aires is home to wonderful and unique neighborhoods, which boast their own architectural style and design. Lunch will be served to you at one of Buenos Aires famous restaurants. Your tour continues after lunch with a visit to another popular neighborhood called, Puerto Madero. Enjoy this fast growing and very modern area that is built along side of the Rio de la Plata. You will find more trendy shops, restaurants, art and even a ship museum. Your guide will recommend one of the areas best restaurants in the area before taking you back to your hotel.
