Day 1Welcome to Oakland, an easy gateway to wine country. Before your drive into Sonoma County, take some time to stretch your legs and have lunch in Jack London Square. This retail shopping center is located on a beautiful estuary that opens to the bay. Watch the ferrys as they arrive at the dock. The square features many fabulous restaurants and specialty shops. Continue on to wine country and look forward to a welcome wine-paired tasting at a very well-known winery. This evening, dinner will be served in the 4-star hotel restaurant. Day 2Enjoy your breakfast on property before beginning your wine tasting day. The regional focus today is the beautiful Russian River wine appellation, known for striking Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. You will find three tastings and can enjoy a gourmet box lunch under huge redwood trees. This evening your dinner reservations will be waiting for you in a popular Santa Rosa restaurant. Day 4Wake up to another full day of wine tasting at the exquisite wines of Sonoma County. Your first wine tour will be conducted in one of the most luxurious wine caves in California. Next you will find a wine tour and tasting at a vineyard that is home to dressage horses. This event will also include lunch. Your day continues with two more vineyard tours and tastings. Dinner this evening is at your leisure. | Day 5Sonoma County has so many splendors including breathtaking views of sandy beaches with mighty waves crashing on black volcanic rocks. Expect to fit right in with the locals as you eat lunch at a seaside restaurant. Consider menu selections like freshly shucked oysters or a bucket of mussels. Your vacation continues with visits to two local cheese factories and a local olive oil producer. Dinner reservations will be provided this evening. Day 6Off to the Sonoma Valley for more wine and food fun. Visit four wineries today that will include a seven-course wine paired lunch. In the last afternoon, you will have time to explore the Spanish and historical town of Sonoma where you will find many delightful places for a superb dining experience. Day 7Visit the wineries of Dry Creek region today. The Dry Creek appellation is famous for Zinfandel, but you will find over twenty different grapes in this region. Another winery picnic will delight your day. Day 8Time to prepare for your departure flight home. In route, discover the oceanside town of Tiburon or Shark. The adorable little village is a playground for the rich and famous. Take some time to pick up any last minute souvenirs and enjoy a wonderful fresh seafood lunch at one of the ocean front restaurants. |
