Do It Napa Style
Day 1Welcome to San Francisco, the city by the bay, known for succulent seafood, unique city adventures and amusing street performers. The city is also a major gateway into Northern California wine country. Watch a parade of sailboats as you bay side and enjoy a delicious lunch served on a sunny patio. Next, its off to the famous Napa Valley. You will be special guests at a welcome wine tasting, before arriving at your hotel. Take time late this afternoon to relax, become acquainted with your hotel and freshen up before your evening dinner reservation.
Day 2Wake up to smell not only the coffee, but the delightful breakfast that awaits you each morning. Today you will visit three Napa Valley wineries for private tours and tasting. A gourmet wine country lunch will also highlight your first day in wine country. Consider a peaceful stroll through the beautiful vineyards before heading to dinner this evening.
Day 3After breakfast this morning, meet your private guide for a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure. Your guide will point out several specialty shops to taste scrumptious locally grown and prepared treats. Sample award-winning olive oils, vinegars, cheese, chocolate, pastry and more. You will also be entertained with many delightful stories about the colorful history of Napa Valley over the decades. Conclude your adventure by exploring the upscale town of St. Helena, where you can also enjoy dinner.
Day 4Kick off your morning with a tour, tasting and a hands-on blending seminar. You are The Winemaker for the day as you blend and bottle a Napa Valley Cabernet. Lunch today includes a step back in time to years gone by. Menu choices include: a tangy ahi tuna burger or gourmet hamburger, specialty fries, golden onion rings, thick shakes and even a glass of wine! Lunch will truly be a memorable event. This afternoon, look forward to another private tour and tasting before spending an evening on the Napa Valley Wine Train.
Day 5Today starts at dawn high above the vines inside the basket of a hot air balloon. Fresh brewed coffee and pastry are just the perfect eye opener before soaring above the valley floor. The birds-eye views from above are so exceptional you wont want to come down. A wonderful Champagne brunch is waiting at the conclusion of your hot air balloon excursion. Back at your hotel, you may consider a short siesta or a swim in the pool with free time in store for the afternoon.
Day 6Experience another full day of wine tasting and touring Napa Valley. Well kick it up a notch with an all underground wine cave tour and tasting that will be accompanied with artisan cheese. Napa Valley is home to the famous Silverado Trail. This area of Napa Valley is perfect location for the enjoyment of a gourmet box lunch combined with a wine tasting at vineyard. Your adventurous wine tasting day continues in a medieval setting of a walled castle. The castle is complete with a draw-bridge and torture chamber. This evening dine at a popular restaurant located inside of Americas most distinguished culinary and wine school. Before leaving the culinary institute, a stop at the famed book store is a must do item.
Day 7Northern California is home to some of the most magnificent trees in the state. Your vacation includes a tour to see the worlds oldest petrified tree that lies in a wooded forest. This is a serine quiet reflective morning with a focus on nature and Mother Earth. Upon returning to Napa your free time this afternoon might include exploring of a different type. Napa is home to hundreds of glorious boutiques, art and antique stores, specialty hand-crafted shops and fabulous outlets! Now is the time to pull out that souvenir shopping list. Day 8Say your goodbyes and prepare for your drive back to San Francisco. In route to The City take time to stop in Sausalito, Californias distinguished version of the Italian Riviera. This romantic bayside town is quant, colorful and inviting for all who visit. Sip on one last glass of wine and enjoy another delightful seafood meal before heading to the airport!
