Day 1Welcome to the city by the bay! San Francisco is filled with eclectic people and sports a diverse culture. The city is also known internationally for cuisine. After you have checked into your hotel, meet your guide for a culinary walking tour. You will taste delicious specialty foods including cheese, chocolate, baked goods, ice cream and seafood! Your tour will conclude at a chic wine bar for your Welcome wine tasting. This evening enjoy the magical waterfront of Pier 39. The Embarcadero has a wide variety of restaurants and cafés. Pick your favorite spot for dinner.
Day 2Today you will take a short boat ride to the Island of Alcatraz also known as The Rock. The self guided audio tour is very historical, entertaining, educational, and hauntingly good. When you return to the city pier, you will have free time to visit Lombard Street, Coit Tower, walk across the Golden Gate Bridge or take a cable car to Union Square and China Town. Also consider venturing into Little Italys North Beach for a wonderful dinner setting.
Day 3After breakfast you will check out of your hotel and take a scenic drive to beautiful Monterey Bay and Carmel. Your premier hotel could include an incredible view of the bay. Monterey Bay is home to the regions sea otters who are frequently seen playing in the ocean. Cannery Row is the main street in this quaint little historic sardine town. Cannery Row is perfect for trinket shopping, wine tasting and a trip to the fabulous Monterey Aquarium.
Day 4Tour the wineries of Monterey and Carmel. This day includes four private tours and tastings with a delicious winery lunch. Tonight, you may choose to walk the planks of Fishermans Wharf while browsing shops and art galleries. You will certainly find a wonderful seafood restaurant for your candle lit dinner!
Day 5Grab a jacket and a camera and depart from Monterey to luxurious Carmel. Your drive will take you along the breathtaking 17 mile coastal highway connecting Monterey and Carmel. In route consider a stop at the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course and Resort. The Pebble Beach Resort is perfect for a beverage and snack before continuing to Carmel-by-the-Sea. The streets of Carmel are carved into the coastal hills. The scenic city of Carmel is a perfect setting for enjoying a glass of refreshing white wine while overlooking the sandy beaches.
Day 6Visit four Carmel Valley wineries today via a Trolley Car called Hattie. You will receive a bottle of wine, two wine glasses and a choice of either a cheese plate for two or a box lunch. Tonight may be the perfect evening for a romantic walk on beach as the sun sets.
Day 7With free time today
Wine Tours of the World will suggest several activity options for your day. You may want to start your day with a massage or yoga class. Next you could choose a nature walk on the Carmel Valley Trail or T Up a round of golf. If you enjoy the ocean, jump into a kayak and row among the seals. You may even wish to visit the Carmel Mission Basilica or peruse the many art and gift shops for treasures and souvenirs. Wine Tours of the World will gladly make dining reservations for you. You may consider a romantic dinner overlooking the sea at a famous Pacific Grove restaurant.
Day 8Rise and shine early this morning for your last day of wine tasting. In route to San Francisco, you will visit three Santa Cruz Mountain wineries and have a wonderful lunch. The city nights of San Francisco offer a variety of options for your last evening before departure home.
