Itinerary
Day 1Welcome to Florence, a city of artistic treasures! Florence is always bustling and a guided city tour will begin your vacation. You will see the many popular and important sights such as Santa Maria Novella, The Duomo, Santa Croce and Piazza della Signoria. Look forward to your first wine tasting, paired perfectly with local Italian specialty food items. Next enjoy a relaxing evening at your perfectly located hotel property. Day 2Rise and shine early this morning to prepare for a full day wine tasting in the Chianti Classico region. Your day includes three wonderful vineyard estates, in Castellina, Radda and Gaiole. Lunch in wine country will be a perfect addition to the day. In route to Florence, you will stop in the beautiful village of Montefioralle and see the sights of Greve and look forward to a romantic Tuscan dining experience. Day 3See the fabulous museums and galleries of Florence today on your guided tour including, the Uffizi Gallery, one of the worlds most famous museums. The Uffizi Gallery is home to Renaissance works by Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto, Botticelli and Michelangelo. Next walk through the Acccademia to view the Statue of David. The open markets of San Lorenzo are a perfect landing pad for a tasty Italian lunch. A local chef will meet you later this afternoon and personally escort you through Mercato Centrale, to pick out fresh ingredients for your evening, hands-on cooking class. Day 4Siena is located in the heart of the Classico Chianti. Check into a wonderful boutique style hotel in Siena, where you will find gracious hospitality and authentic Italian cuisine. In route to Siena a wine tasting and lunch has been booked in the hills of Tuscany. Upon arrival in Siena, your guide will give you a fascinating tour of the largest medieval village in Tuscany. Day 5Taste the treasured wines of Montalcino! You will tour and sip your way through three vineyard estates. A delightful Italian lunch function is scheduled as a piece of your Tuscan fun today. Siena has many small intimate restaurants for your dining experience this evening. | Day 6Hiking shoes will be welcome for a scenic walk through the rolling hills of Tuscany. A knapsack will be provided with delicious snacks, water and a bottle of Italian wine. This afternoon includes San Giminano, the perfect village to sample cheese, chocolate and balsamic vinegar truly Italian style. Your day includes one more wine tasting and an opportunity to purchase the prized regionally grown saffron. Day 7Taste Vino Nobile and Vin Santo in the wine region of Montepulciano today. You will be guests at a lovely lunch set among beautiful gardens at a prestigious wine estate. You will also check out the sights in the Renaissance town that shares the same name. Enjoy an evening strolling the cobblestone streets of Siena. Day 8Today includes a drive south through the countryside to Rome. This afternoon is a perfect time for a little rest and relaxation before your evening tour of the Vatican Museums. You will have special admission into the Sistine Chapel and Raphaels rooms. A tour by twilight does create a special experience that is a fascination to all that participate. Day 9Rise and Shine for a guided customized Angels and Demons tour. You will see some of the most splendid piazzas in Rome as well as enigmatic sights that are mentioned in Dan Browns novel. The afternoon includes the amazing Borghese Gallery and Gardens.
